An important new book
Visualizing Argumentation: Software Tools for Collaborative and Educational
Sense-Making is appearing in early December. This edited volume is
arguably the first book on argument mapping, and contains contributions by
most leading players in the field.

Austhink Principal Dr. Tim van Gelder has been invited to be a featured
speaker at the
2003 Joint International Conference on Cognitive Science (4th
International Conference on Cognitive Science and the 7th Australasian
Society for Cognitive Science Conference) in Sydney, July 13-18. He
will be presenting results from Austhink research on the development of
reasoning skills.

Austhink welcomes Dr. Robert Stafford as an associate.
Dr. Stafford has wide experience in teaching logic and writing in the
management consulting and professional services arena. He specialises in
research techniques, information analysis, technical writing, and use of the
Minto Pyramid Principle for logic in thinking and writing.

Austhink and Trinity College agree to develop and provide 4-day intensive
workshops in Advanced Reasoning and Analysis aimed at junior professionals.
The first of these open-enrolment workshops are scheduled for September and
November 2002. More information will be available shortly. |
