Fiona Patterson

My background is a mixture of philosophy, education and business (and love of anything creative). Academically, I have attained PhD and Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degrees in philosophy, a Diploma of Education and a Bachelor of Business degree. Professionally, my background includes lecturing at The University of Melbourne and Trinity College, presenting papers at Australian and international philosophy conferences, retail management and commercial property management. A strange mix, though it seems to all come together in my role as Education Coordinator.

What does an EC do? I liken it to the creative juggling of any project for which the letter “e” is included: Software design, usability studies and content contributions; Educator guide creation and supervising the creation of teacher resources; Sales and marketing activities including collateral design and content; Teacher training workshop design and facilitation; Case Studies and pilot program organisation, and Conference presentations. Basically, I manage things that begin with Education and end in Rationale! I also email and speak with teachers a lot – so please feel free to contact me if you need to discuss thinking programs in your classroom.

P.S. Rationale’s references to pets, puppies and Bollywood films can usually be tracked back to me.
